THE COWGIRL NANNY BY JEN GILROY

This is the first Montana Carters book I have read, which just goes to show they work very well as standalone novels, because I loved it. Jen Gilroy has such a talent for creating completely believable characters with real, deep emotions, you cannot help but follow their journey with bated breath.

When barrel riding champion Carrie Rizzo arrives in High Valley to stay with her aunt she falls in love with the place, and as she’s taking time out from the rodeo circuit agrees to become nanny for widower Bryce Carter’s two children. She adores them from the outset, but will she fall for their grieving father too… and can he return her feelings?

The setting is wonderfully created too, both in terms of the fabulous Montana landscape, but also the small town community with its cafes, shops, craft circles and characters. It’s certainly a place I would love to be able to spend my summers too!

All in all, The Cowgirl Nanny is the perfect heart-warming read, with characters who’ll live with me for a very long time.
